The 26 illustrations in this deck were originally commissioned for “BLOODY HELL! Adventures in Menopause from Across the Personal + Political Spectrum,” edited by the great Mona Eltahawy.
The book was published in 2025, but when the publisher refused to pay Mona, me and other creators, they went, deservedly, bankrupt. The publisher eventually caved to pressure, (due in large part to the fuss all of our supporters made, shukran!) and paid us. Now that the book rights have reverted back to Mona, I can say that this book is so powerful, and so necessary, and I happen to know it includes voices you’ve never heard talk about menopause and what it means to have a body, how the only way out is through and how sometimes we just have to wreck it all. Cover design by me, as well as these illustrations inspired by each essay.
There is a first run of 12 copies currently available. If y’all like them, I’d love to make more.
